As a rail employee with Trackwork you will initially spend 12 weeks of practical and safety critical training with Trackwork Rail Engineering Company at our Vocational Training Centre. Your next 12 weeks will involve on the job learning and you will then complete your apprenticeship over the next 6 months with your employer sponsor. As part of your apprenticeship you will demonstrate an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of workers on the railway whilst gaining mandatory qualifications necessary to work for Network Rail. Responsible to your site training officer at all times you will be required to adhere to health and safety guidance and work to guidelines that are clearly explained at vocational and apprenticeship induction.

 Requirements We are inviting individuals with the appropriate qualifications and personal qualities to apply. The ideal candidate will enjoy working outside, be enthusiastic and committed to learning new skills and knowledge and able to work under pressure. You will need to be a team player, reliable, adaptable, health and safety conscious, and able to work to instructions. Due to health and safety regulations within the Rail Industry only candidates aged 17years 6 months or above at the commencement of the apprenticeship will be considered for interview. You will be subject to random drugs tests while on programme.
 Training Whilst undertaking a series of qualifications you will develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of workers on the railway. Through structured learning you will have the opportunity to achieve the mandatory qualifications and develop the skills required to undertake the role of laying track for Network Rail. You will have regular reviews throughout the programme.
 Hours Maximum 40 hours per week under age 18
 Pay £2.73 per hour, apprenticeship rate
