Centre Information

The Centre has access to a variety of games and sports equipment, arts and crafts and IT equipment. Staff in Dalton offer young people the chance to participate in group work and develop social and personal skills, have fun and learn about issues which may affect them. The team can provide information, guidance, help and support on the things that are important to you.

You can ask the questions you always wanted to know the answer to, have your say and be listened to. Have new experiences, learn something new, meet new friends while being safe and having fun.

Young people have a long history of volunteering at Dalton, learning new skills and developing self-confidence, If you have an idea about something you want to do for yourself or your community we can give you the opportunity, support and guidance to get started.

The centre also offers social provision for young people aged 13 to 25 years with disabilities. Activities include dance and karaoke, arts and crafts, massage therapy and themed games.


What's On?

6:00 - 8:00pm – Young women’s group - where young women can talk about issues they may face. Sessions could include internet and personal safety, CSE awareness, emotional wellbeing, confidence and self- esteem, peer pressure, healthy lifestyles. Activities also include art and craft activities, cooking and baking, games, crime and consequences and life skills.

6:00 - 9:00pm - Detached and mobile work in Rawmarsh and Thrybergh Detached Youth Workers work out and about in your neighbourhood – usually in red coats or sometimes with a big blue bus. They are friendly and approachable, and usually meet young people at a selected location and specific time in your area. They are available for you to approach and have a chat to and discuss any issues or concerns you may have.

6:00 - 9:00pm - Detached and mobile work in Dalton & Rawmarsh giving young people a chance to chill on the bus with friends, art and craft activities, sports, Xbox games, fun learning, support and information, street safety, and on occasions trips and residentials.

3.30 - 5.30pm - Voice & Influence Group - open to 13 to 19 year olds – a place where you can have your say and help to change Rotherham for the benefit of young people.

6:00 - 8:00pm - Young men’s Group - allowing young men to talk about issues they may face. 6:00 - 9:00pm - Last Friday in the Month - Elephants in Step Club - where young people aged 11 to 25 who have a disability can share new experiences and meet new friends while being safe and having fun. Giving you the chance to participate in group work and to develop social and personal skills.
