Carnival Arts Workshop 19/09/2015

Carnival

The Carnival is coming to Dalton Youth Centre! 19/09/2015 11:00 - 16:00

Come along and take part in a mixture of Art, Music and Dance and Costume Design workshops delivered by leading carnival artists from all over the country! Food and Refreshments are provided.

The artworks created in the workshop will then be displayed as part of the exhibition in the Old Market Gallery for Black History Month 2015. The work will be displayed alongside leading carnival arts organisations such as Mandinaga, London and UKCCA (UK Centre for Carnival Arts, Luton)

Workshops are provided by the Rotherham Culture Company who have chosen the theme of carnival as a means of bringing people together to explore their individual culture as well as a common identity for Rotherham We are using the arts as a way of pulling Rotherham' communities together in a celebration of what makes Rotherham.

Rotherham Culture Company are set to bring a high calibre of Carnival expertise to Rotherham this year. We are looking for colleges,schools, youth clubs, communities to take part in Carnival Arts workshops ran by professional carnival artists who have worked on both national and international carnivals.
